NF Bureau: In a huge relief for Indian cricketer S Sreesanth, the Supreme Court on Friday cancelled the life ban on Sreesanth over his alleged involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.
A bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider Sreesanth’s plea within three months.
The cricketer was arrested by Delhi Police on 16 May 2013, on charges of spot-fixing during the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Later, he was released by a trial court in July, 2015.
