NF Bureau: The boat ambulance service was launched in 4 districts of Odisha a couple of days ago in order to augment emergency medical services in the areas cut off by rivers and reservoirs. It’s seen as a big step for the people facing difficulties in accessing 108 Ambulance services.
While the Government has sanctioned two boat ambulances each for Malkangiri and Kendrapara, one each has been sanctioned for Koraput and Kalahandi. “With a fleet of six boats & 60 jetties, the service will complement existing service on ground,” tweeted the CM.
Built with fibre glass, these boats are stocked with drugs & lifesaving equipment to effectively administer pre-hospital care.
