NF Bureau: Sitting BJD MP from Nabarangpur Balabhadra Majhi who resigned from the party yesterday, is likely to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at party headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday.
The sudden move came after indications that he may be denied a ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Sources said, he might get Lok Sabha ticket. However, some said he might contest assembly polls too.
Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency will go to polls in the first phase on April 11 along with Koraput, Kalahandi and Berhampur.
After BJD MP Balabhadra Majhi, Nilagiri MLA Sukant Nayak who resigned from the primary membership of BJD today will join BJP in a day or two in Bhubaneswar party headquarters.
Similarly, sitting MLA from Salepur, Prakesh Behera, is likely to quit Congress and join BJP soon.
