BJP President Amit Shah, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and former Maha CM Manohar Joshi were present at the press conference.
As per the pact, BJP will contest from 25 seats in Lok Sabha polls, while the remaining 23 seats will go to Shiv Sena. In Assembly polls, both parties will have 50:50 sharing pattern after leaving a few seats to their smaller allies.
Hindutva and Ram Mandir issues have been cited as the binding factor behind their alliance. “We decided to unite and fight together in the interest of the nation,” they declared.
“Our alliance is based on principles. We will win 45 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra”, said Amit Shah.
