Nation First News: External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has responded to the letter written by Union Minister for P&NG and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan, assuring all support to bring back bodies of two Odia Pilgrims who were killed in a road mishap in Nepal.
“Deepest condolences to the bereaved families of Sh. Jena & Sh. Biswal who lost their lives in the tragic bus accident in Nepal earlier today. Our CG&officers from @in_birgunj are at the hospital, constantly monitoring the treatment of the injured & extending all help to their families,” he tweeted.
“Another team @in_birgunj is arranging to repatriate the mortal remains. We will keep you updated”, he added.
Earlier, Dharmendra Pradhan had written a letter to Dr. S Jaishankar seeking his support and also took to Twitter with the following message:
“Took up the issue with EAM @DrSJaishankar, after being apprised of the tragic bus accident in Kathmandu, Nepal involving pilgrims from Puri & Khordha. Requested for all possible assistance to the victims including post-mortem of the deceased & facilitation of their repatriation”.
Two Odia Pilgrims Bijaya Kumar Jena (52) and Charan Biswal (54) died and sever others injured when a truck rammed into a bus carrying 60 passengers in Rautahat district. The incident took place on Monday night when the bus was en route from Janakpur to Kathmandu.
Three other Pilgrims – Sarbeshwar Jena (55), Sheshadev Jena (53) and Karuna Karjuna Awasyhi (63) are in a critical condition and undergoing treatment at a hospital in Birjung.
