EC writes to Railways, Aviation Ministry over use of Modi’s image on Tickets


NF Bureau:  The Election Commission has written to Indian Railways and Ministry of Civil Aviation, asking them why railway tickets and boarding passes carrying photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were not withdrawn even after Model Code of Conduct has come into effect.

The Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Civil Aviation have been asked to submit a reply within a span of three days.

Earlier, Congress had approached the EC saying that the saffron party has put up hoardings of PM Modi at railways stations, petrol pumps and Airports even though the Model Code of Conduct is in force.
