Nation First News: The flood-like situation improved in several parts of Western & South Odisha, after water level of several rivers is flowing above the danger mark on Wednesday.
Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi asked district collectors of Rayagada, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi to remain on high alert.
Meantime, Laxmikant Giri, Duty Officer of Regional Meteorological Centre today informed that the deep depression has weakened & lies over north-east Chhattisgarh. Under the impact, 6 Odisha districts-Sundergarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi & Nabarangpur will receive heavy rainfall within 24 hrs.
Bansadhara and Nagabali rivers in Rayagada, Sileru, Saberi, Poteru and Saptadhara in Malkangiri and Hati and other rivers in Kalahandi district started receding.
Following incessant rainfall, railway track on Rayagada-Titlagarh route was washed away completely affecting railway traffic. In Rayagada, four panchayats (Kucheipadar, Dangasil, Kadipari, and Maikancha) of Kasipur block have been disconnected, after a bridge near Kucheipadar was washed away. Similarly, Several areas of Lanjigarh and Thuamul Rampur blocks were also marooned after heavy rainfall.
