It’s Official… Rahul Gandhi resigns as Congress President

Nation First News:  Putting all speculations into rest, Rahul Gandhi resigned as the Congress President, taking moral responsibility for the loss in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday tweeted that it is an honour to serve the Congress party, hours after he told reporters that the Congress Committee must meet immediately to choose a new President without further delay.

Taking moral responsibility for the party’s poor performance, after a massive defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, earlier on May 25, he had announced that he would step down as Congress President.

Today once again he has reiterated that he is no longer Congress President.

“It is an honour for me to serve the Congress Party, whose values and ideals have served as the lifeblood of our beautiful nation. I owe the country and my organisation a debt of tremendous gratitude and love,” in a letter he wrote.
