Odisha CM meets PM Modi; seeks Rs 5000 cr for Fani restoration


Nation First News:   Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought Central assistance of Rs 5000 crore for rehabilitation and restoration work of cyclone Fani.

In the meeting with PM Modi that lasted nearly 20 minutes, the Odisha CM sought increase in coal royalty and 5 lakh pucca houses for the people displaced after Cyclone Fani wreaked havoc in Odisha in late April.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Patnaik said he also requested PM Modi for ‘Special Category Status’ for Odisha.

Earlier the PM announced Rs 1341 Crore crore special interim assistance for Odisha for rebuilding of infrastructure and homes damaged by cyclone Fani.
