Nation First News: The Odisha Government has hiked the medical assistance for women under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) from existing Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
It was informed by Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal in the House during the inaugural address in the 16th Assembky.
Earlier in April 2019, CM Naveen Patnaik had promised several sops for women at a rally in Komna in Nuapada district. They included hike in assistance amount under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana to Rs 10 lakh for women and work guarantee upto Rs 5,000 crore under Mission Shakti.
Initially, the BSKY had ensured Rs 5 lakh medical assistance for all. However, it was increased to Rs 7 lakh for women later and Rs 10 lakh now.
