Nation First News: As the Cyclone Vayu is approaching towards the Gujarat Coast and set to make landfall on June 13, the officials of Gujarat Government approached Odisha Govt officials seeking their guidance and suggestion on disaster management preparedness.
Gujarat Chief Secretary JN Singh confirmed that the State administration is in touch with the officials in Odisha to seek advice on how to tackle Cyclone Vayu, based on their experience and expertise to deal with Cyclone Fani last month.
Earlier, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani had directed the Chief Secretary to get in touch with his Odisha counterpart on Cyclone preparedness.
During the Cyclone Fani, over 12 lakh people were evacuated to safety in less than 24 hours. The death toll was minimised to 64 although Fani caused massive devastation.
