NF Bureau: In a bid to stop BJP’s march in Western Odisha, BJD President and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik is likely to contest elections from the region as he indicated today. The latest development set the political stage in Odisha on fire.
Earlier today, several political leaders, farmers’ representatives, women, student union leaders and intellectuals from Western Odisha met Naveen Patnaik at his residence and requested him to contest polls from the region. Among others, Padma Shri Haldhar Nag was among the personalities who met Naveen today at Naveen Niwas.
Naveen Patnaik confirmed that he received request from the people to contest from Western Odisha. “I am considering this very seriously”, he said. Naveen has been winning from Hinjili assembly constituency in Ganjam district since 2000.
