NF Bureau: The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed preliminary objections by the Union Government to consider stolen documents as evidence in the Rafale fighter jet case.
The Top Court also rejected the Centre’s claim of privilege on the newly published Rafale papers.
Though the petitioners want a CBI probe into the matter, the Centre has opposed it on the grounds that the Rafale files which were unauthorisedly taken away from the Defence Ministry, were photocopied without due permission.
The Rafale Deal order, pronounced by a bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that the court will fix a date for the review hearing later. It will examine secret on the Rafale fighter jet deal.
