NFN Bureau: The atrocities and brutalities against the women, continue unabated across India. It did not stop after Nirbhaya rape in Delhi and it may not stop either even after Hyderabad.
In Hyderabad, the 26-year-old veterinarian doctor, was trapped by four youths. Her Scooty was punctured, she was abducted on the pretext of help. She was forced to drink alcohol, gangraped and then killed. If it was not enough, the assailants set her body ablaze.
In Tamil Nadu, six people gangraped a Class XI girl in Coimbatore. The girl had gone to a public park with her friend to celebrate her birthday when the accused confronted them.
In Rajasthan, a six-year-old girl was abducted, raped and killed in Tonk district. The Class I student had gone to attend a sports event. Another 4-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Churu district.
In Odisha, there have been rape cases of minors and women everyday. However, the callousness of administration and police came to light yesterday, when a rape victim lecturer in Mayurbhanj, committed suicide after failing to get justice even after a month. Although the complaint was lodged on October 30, neither was an arrest made nor any medical test conducted. The Govt swung into action only after she ended her life.
