Nation First News: PM Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), which turned out to be a game-changer for Modi Govt along with Toilet scheme, has helped improve the environment by making it clean and healthy. Access to clean energy is always linked to many development indicators such as health, education, povery eradication, livelihood etc.
Many studies in the past had proved how unhealthy cooking style had led to serious health hazards among rural women and their kids. It also affected the forest cover and the environment due to rampant use of firewood. The Modi Government had prioritised that segment when it came to power in 2014.
Thanks to relentless efforts of Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who left no stones unturned to make PMUY a huge success, the Rural India almost moved out of the ‘chulha trap’. Still, a lot is to be done to ensure 100% implementation of PMUY, but it’s not difficult. If there is a will, there is a way.
